The law of large numbers (the one from neuroscience, not statistics) states that “The larger the number, the worse the human brain’s ability to comprehend it.”
For example, the difference between a billion and a million (or a million and a thousand) is much larger than most people realize when they hear those numbers used in an argument or statistic.
